HBCU Experience: Come with me to Homecoming

There’s truly no experience like an HBCU and in today’s post I share what its like to attend one at my alma mater, Claflin University.

Hey babes! I recently got back from a fun weekend in South Carolina! I flew to town to celebrate my alma mater’s 150 years and fellowship with friends for homecoming.
The day that I was supposed to fly out, so many issues popped up, from delayed flights to cancellations! I almost said “never mind, i’ll just save myself the stress and sit this one out”.  But thankfully one of the sweet Delta reps helped me get to SC and I had a great time!

Going back to campus made me smile! I graduated from Claflin University in 2013, after studying Mass Communications to become a journalist.
I owe all of who I am today to my sweet professors and to my alma mater.
In 2011, I was crowned Miss Homecoming Queen.

Several of my beautiful sorority sisters also wore the crown! We took this photo together as #QUEENS!

Through my college experience I gained clarity, confidence, and lasting friendships!

Homecoming was lots of fun! Tailgating, events, we did it all.

Here’s a look at what I wore during homecoming weekend.
