I’m so excited to share this beauty post! Honestly, it’s been years in the making after testing dozens of products to combat oily skin.
With my skin, I tend to see shine in my T zone and scientifically your oil glands located within the skin are responsible for secreting an oily substance called sebum.
Sebum lubricates the skin, protecting it from drying out or becoming irritated. This oil, along with sweat, is secreted through the pores. When this process goes smoothly, sebum not only lubricates your skin, but it also removes dead skin cells and other irritants from your pores.
However, when over-active oil glands produce excess sebum, your skin looks shiny and your pores can become clogged, leading to a host of skin imperfections.
There’s no escape to oily skin, whether you want to blame it on the humid weather or on genetics.
Yet oily skin doesn’t necessarily have to be your enemy. When technically, your skin needs oil to survive, too.
That’s why its so important to choose your skincare and makeup products wisely because every skin type is different, and requires something different.
Here’s a list of my 4 favorite foundations for oily skin types.
Estee Lauder’s 24-hour liquid foundation is my absolute favorite! It has a flawless, natural, matte finish that covers imperfections with buildable to full coverage.
It’s great for combination and oily and is free of fragrance.
Lancome Teint Idole foundation is a great mattefying foundation. I swear by it for photographs as a 24hr full coverage foundation with natural matte finish, humidity resistant and lightweight feel.
I also love that the foundation comes in 50 diverse shades and the pigment stays fresh all day without fading.
The formula is also tested under dermatological control.
Too Faced Born This Way Matte 24 Hour Foundation is another great option to combat oily skin.
The matte formula stays true to color and covers imperfections for a shine-free look. Its also medium to buildable coverage.
MAKE UP FOR EVER Matte Velvet Skin Blurring Powder Foundation is my go to powder foundation! I LOVE how full coverage it is! I literally can wear this product alone and go on my merry way!
The foundation is pressed powder formulated, full coverage, matte finish and can last for 12-hour wear.
I find this foundation to be a great fit for normal to combination to oily skin types.
