What is the Water Street community?
Waterstreet tampa FL

In official terms, the Water Street Community in Tampa Bay is a “wellness-focused, waterfront community featuring residences, hotels, retail, restaurants, offices and public spaces.” It’s been under construction for 4 years and is finally seeing its long string of grand openings, officially welcoming the community into the final (beautiful) product.

The plan was quite genius; its creators envisioned a 56-acre, sustainable, waterfront community connected by pedestrian-only walks and green belts. Downtown Tampa has grown twice its size since construction for Water Street began, and right now, you can find luxury apartments and hotels, boutique fitness studios, high-end shops, restaurants, coffee shops and bars scattered along the waterfront.

ROOST

Waterstreet tampa FL

I saved the best for last; ROOST Tampa absolutely changes the hotel game for the city. If you’re staying in Tampa for longer than a weekend, this unique, extended stay apartment would definitely be the way to go!

ROOST is a hotel, but instead of a basic hotel room, think of it as your very own apartment – without the lease! During your stay, you get all the perks of an apartment home; your own space, full-size appliances, cookware, tools, along with the luxury of hotel services like access to a 24/7 concierge, laundry services, in-house fitness center, housekeeping, and maintenance.

Each apartment at ROOST comes fully equipped with La Colombe Coffee Roasters beans and tools to make gourmet coffee, house plants, thoughtfully-selected decor, and stellar views of the city. During your stay at ROOST, make sure you check out their amenities level: a club/lounge for entertainment and viewing the city, an indoor/outdoor fitness club, swimming pool and hot tub with cabanas, and spaces for parties or meetings.

ROOST is an absolutely genius addition to Water Street by taking all the perks of a luxury hotel and marrying it to the privacy and comfort of a space that feels like home.

Anchor & Brine

For truly fine dining, you’ll want to go to Anchor & Brine on Water Street (if you decide to stay at JW Marriott, this is right outside the hotel!). While they have diverse options, Anchor & Brine’s menu centers on gourmet seafood dishes. Guests have indoor and outdoor seating options including a full bar which serves up craft cocktails until 11pm, everyday.

Another great option for dinner is JoToro, a Mexican restaurant in an industrial setting with plenty of bar space and quality tequila to go around (margarita, anyone?).
